State Museum of Tribal and Folk Art, Khajuraho

The State Museum of tribal and Folk Art is established to make people aware about the rich culture of the native tribes of the states of Madhya Pradesh, it provides a platform to represent artifacts from every part of the state.

State Museum of Tribal and Folk Art is located in Chandela Cultural Complex and display tribal artifacts like paintings, masks, etc. The museum has around 500 specimen items of terracotta, metal craft, woodcraft, folk paintings and masks.

The museum showcases a vast collection of masterpieces that is symbolic of the rich culture of the region. There are over 500 tribal antiques, folk paintings, jewellery, masks, terracotta objects, metal craft and bamboo items in this museum. A glance through these artifacts acquaints visitors with customs and traditions of the tribal people as well as the cultural history of the state of Madhya Pradesh.

Museum is really well maintained and is representative of the expertise of tribes from the heart of India who could make wonderful artefacts.
