Established in 13 April 1999 and located in the holy town Anandpur Sahib, this may be seen as one of the most marvelous creation by the Sikh community in this region. Looks can be deceiving,is an old saying and the first reaction that one would get is hardly of a museum because once you are in you are already in awe of the exhibits and short tour of the youngest and the most formist faith born in India. As far as the structure is concerned , this design and infrastructure of this museum has redefined the term creativity as because the design and creativity of Virasat-e-Khalsa has made reach the zenith of its glory.
The most astonishing as well as impressive part of Virasat-e-Khalsa is that it was selected for its direct relationship to the nearby features of the local geography, history and religious significance associated with the ravines, the river and the surrounding historical Anandpur Sahib Gurudwara and fort. Moreover the gathering of the galleries in groups of five reflects the Five Virtues, a central tenet of Sikhism. The most imperative reason why one should visit Virasat-e-Khalsa is because it is the only museum of its kind in India that focuses on the teachings fo the Sikh Gurus while simultaneously introducing you to the turbulent times, historical changes and social churning that happened in Punjab from the time of Guru Nanak Dev to the formation if Khalsa by Guru Gobind Singh Jee.
