Conducted at Kala Academy, Sit matters is a peculiar workshop. While the normal workshops
focuses on the movement, art or performance aspect of theatre, here it is different. As the title say
Site matters. It is not just the act but also the space at which the act is performed that is of
Led by two professional, this workshop aims to see how a performance can be conceived in a
particular site. Does performances change according to site? It will work within the festival
environment, trying to come up with short plays that would be performed at different sites.
It is a three days’ workshop and the aim is not to come up with a complete play, instead to make the
participant aware about the relevance of spaces in the art of theatre. It is also expected to generate
further ideas and expressions as well as discussions surrounding the same.
About the Curators :
Anuradha Kapoor has worked as the director of National School of Drama in Delhi for 6 years and
she played a key role in the establishment of NSD Bangalore.
Lillete Dubey is known for her acting. She has served as the artistic director of The Prime Time
Workshop Directors :
Jane Collins is a professor of Theatre and Performance at Wimbledon College of Art, London. She is
also a writer, director.
